My background & credentials
I entered law school at Seton Hall University with my Master’s in Public Administration from Rutgers and earned my J.D. in 1998. Right after law school I began as a law clerk to the Hon. Ellen L. Koblitz, Presiding Judge of the Family Division, Bergen Vicinage.
In February 2004, I opened my own independent practice, Van Tassel Law, specializing in family law with a particular concentration on mediation and the collaborative process in divorce. I can practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, and am actively involved with both the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association, and Women Lawyers in Bergen (WLIB)
I trained extensively in divorce mediation and am continuously educating myself through significant memberships in and training from noted professional organizations including:
NJAPM - New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators
IACP - International Academy of Collaborative Professionals
