Laura L. Van Tassel Curriculum Vitae Education:
Seton Hall University School of Law, Newark, N.J. with the awarding of a Juris Doctorate degree May, 1998. While attending Seton Hall Laura belonged to the Civil Litigation Clinic wherein free legal assistance was provided in a variety of legal areas to indigent clientele. Laura received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Rutgers University, Graduate School, Newark, New Jersey and a Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude from Kean College, now known as Kean University. Laura is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey. Memberships and Training:
Laura has completed training in Divorce Mediation. Memberships include: AFCC – Association of Family and Conciliation Courts NJAPM – New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators Bergen County Bar Association New Jersey State Bar Association
Work Experience:
Following graduation from Law School Laura was the Law Clerk to the Hon. Ellen L. Koblitz, Presiding Judge of the Family Division, Bergen Vicinage. Thereafter Laura has been in the practice of law opening her own practice in February 2004. Laura’s law practice has been concentrated in the family law arena which includes, divorce, custody, parenting time, domestic violence, support, division of assets and related fields. Laura’s practice also includes preparation of Wills, Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, Partition Actions, real estate, land use and a general practice. Prior to graduation from law school Laura worked in the securities industry.
